About the Jewelry Station of Key West

The Jewelry Station opened for business May 1st, 2004. However, the owners, Franny and Andy Gelman are not new to the jewelry business. They began working together at a retail jewelry store shortly after their marriage in 1972. Andy then became a jewelry manufacturer’s representative in 1978 and in 1985 landed an executive sales position for the one of the world’s largest wedding jewelry companies. Chicago natives, the Gelmans made numerous visits to Key West during the 80’s and 90’s and became enchanted with the vibrant island atmosphere, charming local population and incredible natural beauty. Envisioning opportunities presented by the lucrative tourist economy and tired of the corporate routine, they moved to the Keys in 2000. They found a small store front location in Old Town Key West and opened a jewelry shop. The Jewelry Station moved to their new flagship store at 626 Duval St., in Oct. 2005 (right before Wilma).
